i had a good time at praisn the raisin seeing people from way back, from even my high school days.  i know PTR was a couple of hours ago, but i cant blog at work anymore, so i thought i'd just blog now.  anyways - yeah, RELATIONSHIPS! relationships are essential to life.  it's sad that some relationships are put on the back burner because of distance, circumstance, work, traffic, beef, etc etc.  but ppl and situations do change.   I miss my homies.   here are some updates from my life.

-i still hate my job, and am starting to actively look for a career change or posssibly grad school.  for now i'd rather do something i like rather then get paid alot.

-i got an 07 civic.  farewell 94 civic

-thanks to everyone who helped out the winter Nicaragua missions team.  Many people from all over Atlanta helped contribute to this trip in various ways.  you have my gratitutde.   Yes i know that the trip was four months ago, i probably shoulda wrote about it sooner.

uhhh ok i think thats it. pretty lame update.  im still just trying to figure out life.

Peace and Blessings to all.

here is snippet of an interview with the Christian heavy metal band  'As I Lay Dying'.  i thought it was relevant as CJ preached on sort of the same topic.

Are you guys Christians in a band or a Christian band?
I'm not sure what the difference is between five Christians playing in a band and a Christian band. If you truly believe something, then it should affect every area of your life. All five of us are Christians. I believe that change should start with me first, and as a result, our lyrics do not come across very "preachy." Many of our songs are about life, struggles, mistakes, relationships and other issues that don't fit entirely in the spiritual category. However, all of these topics are written about through my perspective as a christian.

How can you be a Christian band and go on tour with bands who represent themselves as evil, satan worshipers?
We hope to intelligently represent a faith that has been very misrepresented in the entertainment industry. There isn't much diversity of thought within metal music and I believe it is important for people to understand opposing views before drawing conclusions. I hope other bands and their fans have an open mind and respect for what we are saying, so it's fair for them to expect the same from us. If truth is the basis of our belief, then the questions other bands/fans have are an important way to understanding what/why we believe. Most of the bands we tour with would never hear a well represented explanation of Christianity if we just stayed home.

on a couple of un-lame notes

-Tanya Morgan is ill.  They are funny, and their songs have this charismatic quality about them that no other rappers have...  i feel like rap music has really fallen off this year thanks to songs like 'chicken noodle soup' and that other song by d4l... i dont remember it by i remember it was lame.

- thanks to everybody that came to the coffeehouse/auction!!!! i didnt know eveybody was so rich... wow.  no but seriously thanks, and God bless.

missions update

here we go...

CHFPDF

we are doing good. we still need lots of money.

i just wanted to thank all of the people that have supported us.  whether you bought our overpriced food, prayed for the team, or if you were just there with us.  Some of the college students hung out with us as we giftwrapped books today.  i am forever greatful for the things like that..

it's in these small seemingly menial tasks that we get to bond and grow together.

anyways, i shared with lydia that the hardest thing about this trip for me is putting my plans and desires second to God.   we live in a selfish, fast paced, reward-driven world, and i really got caught up in that.

Please pray for us.  We have a month left here before we head out... oh yeah. also we are having a coffeehouse w/ a service auction on the 2nd (next saturday) to raise funds.  so come out. it'll be really fun.  it starts at 7, and you can get directions to the church here:  crossroadsatlanta.com.  if youre reading this xanga page... comsider yourself INVITED!!!! yay! hopefully i can get a jpg of the flyer on here a little later.  i'll use snaggit at work.

just thinking of missions makes me really excited... i feel like dancing. haha. ok bye.
